Timeline

Study sabbatical

During my sabbatical, I dedicated significant time to studying AI implementation, exploring its diverse applications within software development. This included analyzing its potential role in enhancing various aspects of application development. Alongside this academic pursuit, I also took a step back for personal reasons, utilizing the time to recalibrate and focus on personal growth. With a strong commitment to continuous learning, I leveraged this period to refine and deepen my existing skill set. Presently, I'm actively engaged in developing my own projects, integrating the insights gained from my AI studies into real-world applications.

Analyst/developer Java/Web/COBOL

At Easypay NV, I embarked on a journey as a junior analyst developer, swiftly ascending to a leadership role. Overseeing a team of five developers, I played a pivotal role in nurturing talent and fostering a collaborative work environment. My responsibilities extended beyond coding, as I dedicated myself to teaching every new team member the intricacies of COBOL programming. Additionally, I spearheaded the creation of comprehensive technical analysis documents, ensuring clarity and precision in project execution. Not content with the status quo, I led efforts to modernize the application's frontend, transitioning it to HTML5 and Bootstrap for enhanced user experience and functionality.

In response to the lack of available tools, I took initiative and dedicated my own time to develop a comprehensive application that addressed key challenges within our workflow. This self-initiated project, which I pursued outside of regular work hours, resulted in the creation of an innovative ISAM DB workbench and application analysis application.

This application allowed for efficient editing of DB records by generating COBOL code, streamlining and automating tedious tasks. Additionally, I integrated features to draw module relations using UML diagrams, providing invaluable insights into the application's architecture. Moreover, I implemented functionality for batch generation of boilerplate code files in both JavaScript and COBOL, further enhancing productivity and code quality.

This initiative not only showcased my technical proficiency and problem-solving skills but also demonstrated my commitment to driving efficiency and innovation within the organization.
